Background
Missouri State University and the faculty of the School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences invite applications and nominations for the position of School Director. The Director is a key member of the leadership team of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services. The College consists of 5 major academic units, including the School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences.
The School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences consists of programs in Counseling, Psychology, and Social Work offering bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Social Work, master’s degrees in Counseling, Psychology, and Social Work, a Doctor of Psychology Degree, and several certificates. Our programs are accredited through CACREP and CSWE, and the PsyD is seeking accreditation from APA. Responsibilities
The School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences seeks a candidate with expertise in counseling, psychology, or social work who can lead the School and facilitate school operations, initiatives, community outreach, fundraising and marketing. The Director will serve as an advocate for the School with the Dean, university administration, and external constituents. The Director will collaborate with other Academic Unit Leaders to engage in strategic planning, facilitate interprofessional collaboration, support accreditation processes and program evaluation, advocate for equitable distribution of resources and oversee budgets. The Director will collaborate with colleagues in the unit to recruit and retain faculty, staff, and students.
Qualifications

Terminal degree in a discipline within the School of Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences

Credentials for appointment to Associate or Full Professor level, which includes a strong record of teaching, service, and scholarship
-
Experience with academic strategic planning, curricula planning, and program assessment
-
Documented success with recruitment, mentoring, development, and evaluation of faculty, staff, and students

Experience with budget and resource management
-
Experience obtaining and/or maintaining accreditation for academic programs
-
Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to lead a team toward goal achievement

Experience working with multiple constituencies and a record of building effective interprofessional collaborations

Ability to lead through democratic team building and promote cohesiveness and a culture that values diverse views and perspectives

Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for creating an inclusive environment with faculty, staff, and students
Salary and Benefits
Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, vision, life, and dental insurance, and a retirement plan. Employees are entitled to a tuition waiver of up to 15 credits/year, which may be assigned to their dependents and/or spouse.

The Chapter office is located in Rocky Hill, CT. This position requires travel as an essential function of the job. The role expects the executive director to provide their own means of transportation to attend meetings and activities throughout the state.
